RANDSUM

Privacy Policy

RANDSUM is an open-source dice project. None of its services have accounts, sign-in, cookies for tracking, advertising or analytics scripts, and none of them store your rolls on a server. This page says exactly what each one handles.

Last updated: November 1, 2026.

RANDSUM is maintained by its contributors on GitHub. Every service below runs on Cloudflare, which hosts the site, the app, the API and the Discord bot.

The documentation site and the notation spec are static pages. They set no cookies and load no analytics. Your browser’s local storage keeps your light or dark theme choice on your own device.

The app rolls dice in your browser. Your roll history is saved in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device. Clear it in the app or by clearing the site’s data.

The API and the Claude connector (api.randsum.dev)

Section titled “The API and the Claude connector (api.randsum.dev)”

api.randsum.dev/v1 (the HTTP API) and api.randsum.dev/mcp (the MCP server behind the RANDSUM Claude connector and the Claude Code plugin) receive only what a request contains: the dice notation, game name, parameters and optional seed you or your AI assistant send. They compute the roll, return it, and keep nothing.

  • No accounts or keys. The API and connector need no sign-in, so they never see your name, email or any Claude account details.
  • No conversation data. The connector gets the arguments of each tool call and nothing else. It cannot read your chats, files, memory or other tools.
  • Request logs. Cloudflare’s Workers logs record operational data for each request (time, path, response status and errors, and connection details such as IP address and approximate location). They are used only to keep the service running and debug failures, and Cloudflare deletes them automatically after a few days (at most 7).
  • Rate limiting. Your IP address is used, in memory, to cap each address at 120 requests a minute. It is not stored.

The randsum plugin runs inside Claude Code. Its skills are instructions for Claude, and its /roll command rolls on your machine with no network call. The only service it contacts is the RANDSUM MCP server at api.randsum.dev/mcp (and, if that is not connected, the HTTP API at api.randsum.dev/v1), which handles data as described above. It sends nothing anywhere else.

When you use a slash command, Discord sends the bot the command and its options along with the IDs Discord includes with every interaction (your user ID, and the server and channel it came from). The bot rolls, replies, and keeps nothing: a reroll button carries the command and its options in the message itself, so there is no database. The same Cloudflare request logs apply. Discord’s own handling of your messages is covered by Discord’s privacy policy.

RANDSUM does not sell, rent or share your data with anyone. The only third party involved is Cloudflare, as the host, under its own privacy policy. Services that call RANDSUM (Claude, Discord, other MCP clients) have their own privacy policies for what they send.

RANDSUM collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy are made in the open in the RANDSUM repository, and the date above is updated with each one.
